current financial members of the Guild at the end of January 2008.

AMATEUR
1.
Traditional
Includes whole
cloth, crazy, partial appliqué, hand and/or machine pieced and quilted.
Minimum size 120
x 120cm. Maximum size 290 x 290cm.
2. Predominantly
Appliqué
Hand and/or machine
pieced and quilted. More than 75% must be appliquéd.

3. Mixed
Techniques - Anything Goes
Includes embroidery,
crazy quilting, embellishment, painting & trapunto

*A professional quilter is defined
as some who teaches or publishes in the field of quilting; sells, designs
or participates in making quilts for financial gain; and/or has won Best
of Show or two blue ribbons in any major judged competition, excluding
Viewers’ Choice. Having exhibited as a professional, amateur status
cannot be resumed.
“Financial gain” is defined as any
amount above the cost of: creating the quilt; creating any article, design,
or teaching aids including samples and notes; and traveling expenses.
A major show is a State or Territory
guild judged exhibition or competition, a national or international competition
or exhibition.
