Sydney Quilt Show: 12-16 June 2013
The Sydney Quilt Show is an annual members exhibition presented in conjunction with the Craft & Quilt Fair with the support of Expertise Events.
Exhibits & Events
- an exhibition of more than 415 member quilts in 19 categories;
- retrospective displays by quilts by the late Narelle Grieve. Free floor talks at 11am, Thursday – Sunday;
- SAlt (South Australian living artists) , a display of 40 quilts from 5 contemporary quilters. Free floor talks at 1.00 pm on Friday- Sunday .
- the Benjamin Franklin's Blessing Raffle Quilt;
- the 2012 30th Anniversary Guild Challenge "Pearl";
- Best of State and Best of Australia Quilts (Best of Show quilts from across Australia for 2012 sponsored by Bernina);
- Quilts from the Guild archives Colours of Australia will be display for the first time since 1995;
- hand sewing and machine quilting demonstrations;
- each day Guild members will participate in a fun machine sewing activity, participants will be challenged and timed to make a quilt top using a jelly roll; and
- Kids Skills on Saturday and Sunday at 10am and 1pm, a free activity aimed at introducing children to the delights of colour, fabric and block designs.
Key Dates for Members for 2013 Exhibition
- 5 June: Quilts must be delivered to "Drop Off Person" by this date
- 9 June: Judging Day (Sunday)
- 11 June: Set Up Day (Tuesday)
- 12 June: Opening Day and Awards Ceremony at 11am (Wednesday)
- 16 June: Final Day and Take Down (Sunday)
