Quilt Valuation Service
To ensure you gain sufficient insurance cover for your quilts, it is important to have them valued. It is advisable to check your home owner's insurance to confirm that your quilts are included in the policy.
There are 12 members of the valuation team with many year of experience in the patchwork and quilting. Many are award-winning quilters, national and international awards, authors, magazine technical editor and specialists in techniques ranging from machine quilting to art quilts.
To value a quilt, the valuation team members will closely examine the quilt and discuss all areas of workmanship and construction. Design, visual impact, techniques, fabric, quilting –hand a machine are just a few of the areas that will influence the value of a quilt. All discussions relating to the assessment of the quilt are kept strictly confidential as is the determined value.
Each quilt valued will be issued with a certificate signed by 3 valuers. The valuation is for insurance purposes. The certificate will give a detailed description of the quilt: the quilt maker, name of quilt, year made, size, colour, fabrics used, batting used awards won, and the value.
